Every tool on this site runs as JavaScript inside your browser. When you type into a tool \u2014 a piece of text to format, a Wi-Fi password for a QR code, a token to decode \u2014 that input is processed locally on your device and is not sent to our server or to any third party as part of the tool's normal operation. We don't receive it, so we have no copy of it to store, secure, or disclose. Closing or refreshing the tab clears it.
A number of tools are a deliberate exception to that, by necessity: What Is My IP Address, IP Location Lookup, DNS Lookup, Reverse DNS Lookup, SPF Record Checker, DMARC Record Checker, DNS Propagation Checker, WHOIS Lookup, IP / Domain Blacklist Check, SSL Certificate Expiry Checker, and HTTP Header Inspector all answer questions that only something outside your own device can answer \u2014 checking a domain's DNS records, or opening a real connection to read a certificate's expiry date, isn't something a browser can do entirely on its own. For these, your request does reach this site's server, which performs the lookup on your behalf using the same open, standard internet protocols (DNS, WHOIS, TLS, HTTP) that any browser or command-line tool uses directly \u2014 not by sending your input to another company's proprietary service to be processed. Nothing about these requests is logged or stored beyond the normal, momentary handling of any web request.
One tool works differently again: Barcode Lookup contacts real external services \u2014 Open Library, and Google Books as a fallback \u2014 to look up the book a scanned or typed barcode identifies. This is the one case on this site where something you provide (the scanned or typed code) is passed to another company on your behalf, since looking up a book genuinely needs an actual book database to check against. No other information about you is included in that request.
URL Shortener is different again, in a way worth being explicit about: unlike every tool listed above, which perform a momentary lookup and store nothing afterward, this tool's entire purpose is to create a lasting record \u2014 the long URL you enter is sent to e309's own separate URL-shortening service (a different part of the same product family, not an unrelated third party) and stored there indefinitely, since a short link that stopped working after a few minutes wouldn't be useful to anyone. A created short link is genuinely public: anyone who has it can use it to reach your original URL. Don't shorten a link you need to keep private.
Every piece of code a tool needs \u2014 including third-party libraries, like the one behind the PDF tools or the barcode scanner's camera support \u2014 is bundled directly into this site rather than loaded from an external CDN. Visiting any page here never sends a separate request to another company's server just to load the tool itself.
The "Recently Used By You" list on the home page is built entirely from your own browser's local storage — it never leaves your device, isn't sent to us, and clears if you clear your browser data. We have no way to see what's in it.
"Popular This Week" reflects an anonymous, aggregate count of tool page views across all visitors. We keep a rolling tally of how many times each tool was viewed \u2014 not who viewed it. To stop the same visit from being counted repeatedly, we briefly check your IP address against a short-lived, in-memory list (roughly the last 30 minutes) before counting a view; that check is never written to disk and is discarded automatically. No individual browsing history is stored or reconstructable from this data.
This site uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns \u2014 which pages are visited, how often, and from roughly where \u2014 which sets cookies in your browser and shares data with Google under Google's Privacy Policy. This is separate from, and unrelated to, what you type into any tool above.
This site does not currently show ads.
