Randomly split a list of names into 4 balanced teams.
Paste a list of names (one per line) and this splits them into the number of teams you choose, distributed as evenly as possible — if the count doesn't divide evenly, the extra people are spread one-per-team across the first few teams rather than all piled onto a single team.
The order within the source list has no effect on the outcome — names are shuffled randomly before being divided, so there's no advantage or disadvantage to where someone's name happened to appear in the list you pasted.
Useful for splitting a class into project groups, dividing players for a pickup sports game, or forming random teams for an office activity without the social awkwardness of picking teams one by one.
The extra people are distributed one per team across as many teams as needed, so team sizes differ by at most one person — never a situation where one team has several more people than another.
