Paste your class list (one name per line) and pick a random student — useful for cold-calling fairly, picking who reads next, or choosing a volunteer without always landing on the same few hands that go up first.
With "Don't repeat" enabled (the default), once a student is picked they're set aside until everyone else in the list has also been picked at least once, then the pool resets — this guarantees everyone gets called on roughly equally often over a session rather than the pure-random approach where, by chance, the same few names can come up repeatedly while others never get picked at all.
Turn "Don't repeat" off if you specifically want every pick to be a fresh, fully independent random draw from the whole class each time, repeats included.
Pure random picking can, by chance, land on the same student several times in a row while others never get picked — mathematically fair in the long run, but it doesn’t feel fair in a single class period. "Don’t repeat" spreads picks evenly across everyone before anyone repeats.
The picked list automatically resets, and the next pick can be anyone in the class again — you don’t need to manually reset it mid-cycle.
